September on Lake Garda

What to do in September on Lake Garda

Summer is drawing to a close, but for those who love the last joys of the summer season, Lake Garda - where Villa Caratti is located - still offers several opportunities for fun and relaxation to get away from your usual routine.

What is there to do on Lake Garda in September?
According to some, September is the ideal month to spend your holidays on Italy’s largest lake.

The weather, the villages and its magical shores all contribute to make September on Lake Garda a very popular period among tourists. In this article we’re going to give you some suggestions for September events near our luxury villa.

Limone sul Garda Market

In September, right in the very centre of town that Goethe celebrated in several of his works, Limone sul Garda’s traditional market is held on a weekly basis. It attracts the attention of residents and tourists alike with its numerous stalls full of local products.

Moreover, going to Limone sul Garda Market gives you the chance to visit the famous Limonaia del Castel: walled terraces situated between the mountains and the jewel in the crown of Limone sul Garda.

Garda Brewery Festival

From 20th to 23rd September 2019, the town of Garda is hosting the fifth edition of the great craft beer fair, the “Brewery Festival”.

The Garda Brewery Festival takes place in the heart of the town over four evenings during which you can taste the best craft beers accompanied by the delicious street food offered by a variety of stands.
The event - complete with bands and DJ sets - is free and is one of the most popular in September on Lake Garda.

Health comes with eating in Brescia

For those who enjoy healthy eating, there is a meeting on 23rd September at the Sala delle Danze in Brescia on the theme of chronic disease prevention through natural nutrition: “Health comes with eating”.
Various topics will be discussed, such as the importance of organic food, plant based alternatives to milk and the differences between vegan, vegetarian and macrobiotic diets.

The Ancient Fair of St Michael in Bardolino

September on Lake Garda is an event-packed month.
From 27th to 29th September Calmasino di Bardolino is hosting the Ancient fair of St Michael.

Divided into three sectors - the Tasting Market in Piazza San Michele, the Creative Market in Piazza Risorgimento and Ancient Crafts in the historic courtyards - this festival has its origins in the patron saint’s festival dedicated to St. Michael the Archangel.
Among live music, street artists, craft markets, local products and typical dishes, locals and tourists crowd the streets of the village, captivated by the magical atmosphere during the three-day event.
Bardolino will already be in a festive mood, as from 3rd to 7th October 2019 it is hosting the traditional Grape Festival, with food and wine tastings, music and shows.

eBike tour to Torri del Benaco

For sports lovers, on the other hand, September also sees the eBike tour to Torri del Benaco.

This 30km route winds between the beach and the hills east of the lake, which gives you the chance to enjoy and photograph the breathtaking scenic views: all this from the saddle of a bike.
