New Year’s Eve on Lake Garda

After the wonderful experience of my summer holiday at Villa Caratti, I decided to return to this luxury villa overlooking Lake Garda for New Year.

Back at school - in fact - I told my friends everything I did during the summer; they too, like me, were excited about all the leisure opportunities offered in this unique location. One day, a friend of mine asked the most dreaded question of all: "What are we going to do for New Year?” The answer this year was simple: together we agreed that we would see in the new year on the shores of Lake Garda, in this luxury villa. We booked on the same day, using the simple and quick form to fill in on the site and every person was given the responsibility for organising a part of the day. There are sixteen of us going, the maximum number of people that Villa Caratti can accommodate and we have already begun to plan the day which promises to be unforgettable.

Fun and relaxation in the luxury villa

We’re arriving at Villa Caratti a couple of days before New Year's Eve, to enjoy our luxury break. Obviously we’re not going to use the beach on the Bay of Sirens, as it will be cold, but we can relax inside the villa. The villa’s basement has different ways for us to enjoy ourselves, depending on our individual tastes and desires. Some of us can't wait to play billiards, perhaps while drinking a good wine from the cellar; others will spend the time in the cinema, choosing films from the Blu-ray video library and watching them on the giant screen while sitting comfortably in an armchair. But I think that most of us will choose a nice swim in the pool. The basement also includes a relaxation area, with a Turkish bath, a sauna and a heated pool with hydromassage; it’s ideal for the winter months. All this comes with a beautiful view of Lake Garda. The living room will also be a welcoming place, heated by a real fire, for people who love reading in peace and quiet.

Villa Caratti’s services for New Year’s Eve

In addition to the included services of daily cleaning and a change of sheets and towels, Villa Caratti offers extra services available upon booking. During our summer break we took advantage of them. My mother had lessons from a yoga teacher and went shopping with a personal shopper and my father rented a boat with a skipper so he could fish on the lake. Together, we travelled around Lake Garda for guided cultural and food and wine tours. We also had the chance to book some services. We decided to get around using rented cars with drivers for the duration of our stay and especially for New Year's Eve itself as this gives us more freedom of movement. My dad, who was very happy with the service that he tried during the summer holidays, decided to give us a special gift: we’re going to enjoy dinner prepared for us by a personal chef in the villa.

Our New Year's Eve has already been planned. The chef will have Villa Caratti’s kitchen at his disposal to prepare dinner; the kitchen is fully equipped, spacious and overlooks Lake Garda. The kitchen leads to the dining room, which can accommodate up to sixteen people. This room will be appropriately decorated and the table will be set for the party. There will also be wine, which we can choose from the well-stocked cellar, located in the basement of the luxury villa, paying the price of each bottle. The menu will consist of traditional dishes, revisited by the chef; we can agree the menu with him, taking into account the tastes and allergies of all those present. This service is a real convenience, because it avoids the worry of booking a place for dinner; we will dine in the villa in peace, and then go out to wait for the New Year in the bars on the lakeshore.

Celebrating New Year on the shores of Lake Garda

After dinner we’ll have time to get to the bar to celebrate the New Year. Our drivers will take us to one of the many villages overlooking Lake Garda, in each of these, bars and village squares organise events for the occasion, with DJs, live music and drinks. We have chosen our destination: we’re spending the evening in a square, at an event with DJs. Obviously, all the bars will be open, waiting for midnight, and we can have a drink and some wine to toast the new year. Midnight promises to be particularly impressive as there’s going to be fireworks; their light, reflected on the mirror of Lake Garda, is going to be a breathtaking spectacle. After midnight we’re going to a club in the area, to spend a few hours inside in the warmth, continuing the party. At the end of the night, our drivers will take us back to the luxury villa.

Villa Caratti’s luxurious rooms

On the first floor and the attic floor of Villa Caratti is the sleeping area. The first floor is occupied by the Lake Suites; four rooms with views of Lake Garda. The Sky Suites are on the second floor – five spacious bedrooms, where my sister and I slept during our summer break. All rooms are equipped with every comfort for a unique relaxing experience. Each suite has its own private bathroom – a great advantage especially when you’re in a big group. Fine, elegant furnishings and walk-in closets complete these luxurious rooms for guests to rest in. Villa Caratti’s luxury suites guarantee guests privacy and all the comforts they need. And don’t forget the large terrace, where we want to wait for dawn before going to sleep. I’m sure that our luxury break in the villa for New Year will be unique and unforgettable, as it was this summer.
